hi, i enjoy your podcasts,. i know how hard it is to maintain the web site, You do not need to pay a recording studio, why not just get a minidisc recorder or a DAT machine and a microphone, the recording quality will be good, i am a sound engineer, but im living in china, if you need help you can email me. kind regards michael

Yao,

Considering another year has passed since your last post (almost) and it has been several years since your last lesson, I am not holding my breath for a new podcast. However, I would like to say your lessons were very helpful and the pace allowed for easy memorization. Thanks and I hope you bring this back.

Hi Yao,
I found your podcasts about a week ago and have enjoyed every one! I agreed that your teaching style is so much easier than other podcasts and websites. I was disappointed to see that learning Chinese for free online doesn\'t seem to be as accessible as for many other languages until I found your site.

I work in sales and we have a lot of Chinese students coming to buy from us. My main reason for wanting to learn Chinese was that I thought it would be nice for someone to make an effort, rather than just hoping they will speak fluent English.

I would like to see a podcast with a range of helpful phrases, perhaps this would need to be longer as it would be more in detail.

I really hope you release some new stuff soon!! (But I\'m getting your book for xmas... if I can wait that long! :0))

Thanks!

I would much rather understand the grammar of a language than be able to speak it actively. As a linguist, I enjoy seeing connections in the structure of different languages.

Great podcast. It's the first one I've found that actually starts with the basics of Chinese (pronouns, etc.). Most that I've seen jump right in by saying sentences and telling you to memorize them. I like your approach much better.

Keep up the good work!

Hi Yao,

I only just recently found your podcasts, so am overjoyed to hear that you're starting the program again! I traveled for a few months in china and absolutely loved being able to use the scraps of language i had - but now i am wanting to learn more!
i find your podcasts to be a great learning tool for the simple fact that you explain what the words in a phrase means as well as how they interact, rather than just repeating the phrase over and over. the pronunciation is easy to understand - and just really great stuff overall! look forward to the new episodes!

cheers,
Jimmy
